What Makes Healthy Hormones?

Do you struggle with lady problems?!

That being said, I know trying to understand your body can feel overwhelming and frustrating, so let me break it down for you..

First of all, your hormones don't just jump out of whack for no reason. There is always an underlying factor and 99% of the time your actual hormones aren't the real issue.. instead they are the red flags from your body letting you know something else is taking place.

You can think about this like a check engine light on your car.. When you're in your car and the engine light comes on, the actual light itself isn't the issue. The light is there letting you know that something deeper in taking place. If all you do is replace the light without finding the problem, your car will continue to break down further. You can think of your hormones and symptoms in the same way.

Now, if you are reading this, you most likely are looking for more energy, better sleep, stable moods, more resilience to stress, easier periods, improved symptoms, and maybe even support in weight management. But in order to see results in any of these areas, you first have to make sure a few other areas of your body are balanced and working properly. (Just like we make sure all the internal parts of a car of working as well)

The most common imbalances show up in the following areas so this is always a great place to start:

  • Nutrition , Hydration , & Blood Sugar

You don't always need therapeutic and intense nutrition plans to heal. Sometimes it's as simple as coming back to a few basics.. Are you eating ENOUGH? Are you eating enough NUTRIENTS (processed pastas and daily sandwiches don't count here😉 ) Are you working to stabilize your blood sugar levels by nourishing with a proper balance of proteins, fiber, and healthy fats? Are you eating real, whole foods that lower inflammation and provide essential nutrients? Are you hydrated on a cellular level? .. These things all need to be in place first before any type of therapeutic nutrition will be able to support you!   • Stress Levels / Sleep

Stress is incredibly damaging to your system as a whole. Ensuring you have proper stress reduction practices in place and your getting adequate, restful sleep is ESSENTIAL to support your nervous system and create happy hormones. & no, sleeping 5 hours a night while constantly waking up does not count as restful sleep!

  • Digestive/ Gut Health

Have you ever heard the phrase "disease starts in the gut"? Well it's true! Your digestive system is extremely important for overall health and hormone balance. If bloating, constipation, excessive gas, or any other uncomfortable symptoms have become "normal" for you than addressing gut health is a MUST. (Oh, and you must be pooping at least 1x a day for optimal gut health!) When struggling with digestive health it's going to be important to work with someone who can help you identify the root cause of your symptoms.. our digestive systems are complex and discovering what's really going on is crucial for proper healing.
