Fertility Supportive Chocolate Chia Breakfast

If you want optimal fertility, your body NEEDS optimal support.

Look at it this way.. Your body is only going to allow conception if it feels SAFE & HEALTHY enough to maintain a healthy pregnancy for both yourself + your baby.
(This is one of the many incredible check/ balances systems that naturally occurs in your body to keep you "safe". )

If there is anything threatening your body (internally or externally) from being able to carry out a healthy pregnancy, your chances of conceiving will be lowered greatly. .

This means learning to support the imbalances taking place is going to be a KEY factor in healthy hormones + improved fertility.

Nutrition is one of the main players in creating a healthy fertile body, balancing hormones, reducing PMS, and even increasing energy.

This grab’n’go recipe is packed full of healthy fats, adequate protein, and other hormone-supportive ingredients - Exactly what your body needs for phase 1 fertility support! You can enjoy it for breakfast when you are in a rush or even take it to work for a mid-day balanced snack :)

What you need:

  • 2 cups coconut milk (or any non-dairy milk of choice)

  • 1/2 cup Chia seeds

  • 2 TBSP pure maple syrup

  • 1/3 cup raw Cacao Powder

  • 1-2 scoops collagen powder (optional but recommended)

  • Blueberries, Coconut flakes, and Slivered almonds (for additional toppings)

What you do:

  • Mix together the coconut milk, cacao powder, collagen, and maple syrup until the cacao and collagen are completely dissolved

  • Add chia seeds and mix to combine

  • Pour into 4 mason jars with lids. Place in the fridge for at least 4 hours (ideally overnight)

  • Top with desired toppings of choice

Why these ingredients?

These ingredients contain some of the most important vitamins and minerals for optimal fertility (magnesium, calcium, omega 3 fatty acids, fiber, anti-oxidants, etc.) BUT supporting fertility or not, these ingredients pack a lot of nutritional value.

Let’s take a look:

  • Chia seeds - These tiny black seeds are packed with fiber, great for digestion, high in calcium, magnesium, and omega 3’s. They also contain protein and are a source of anti-oxidants. If you aren’t yet consuming chia seeds daily- now is the time to begin!

  • Cacao powder - Raw cacao is one of the highest food sources of magnesium. It’s also rich in iron and anti-oxidants. Cacao is NOT the same as cocoa powder - which has significantly less nutritional value.

  • Collagen powder - I’m sure you have heard of the benefits of collagen for things such as hair, skin, nails, etc. But did you know collagen plays a big role in your digestive and hormone health as well? Plus adding some collagen to things such as chia pudding will give it a little extra protein to keep your blood sugar stable and your body satisficed.

Enjoy!
