Supporting Your Health with ESSENTIAL OILS
Essential Oils are a hot topic in the health & wellness industry. Everywhere you look there is controversial information about how to use or not to use essential oils. Are they actually good for you? Do they actually work? Can they really support your health?
These are questions I get asked ALL. THE. TIME.
My answer? YES. They are POWERFUL plants in a bottle – IF you are using a high grade PURE essential oil. This means without added contaminants, pesticides, etc.
How do you know if the oil you are choosing is actually safe and 100% pure? You must get a brand you know and trust. This is by far the most important part of using essential oils. This is also exactly why I am in love with doTERRA.
As a holistic health practitioner, I am super passionate about only putting things into and onto my body that are going to support me in the best ways. So you can be sure I would not just use ‘any’ essential oil. I did my research and discovered that doTERRA is the only brand that tests EVERY SINGLE BATCH of oil they source. This means it is proven that EVERY bottle of oil they produce is the best quality.
Now I am not sure what other brands are like, but for me I know, like, and TRUST the doTERRA company which is why I choose to use their products ONLY.
Now, back to HOW I use them to support my health!
Essential oils are powerful plants in a bottle ( think 50-70 times more powerful than herbs). They can greatly support all areas of our health. Everything from emotional health, digestion, immunity, hormone health, inflammation, and even to the health of our skin, hair, and nails.
I really use these products for everything but the top 3 areas I use them to support my health include:
1. Mental / Emotional Health
I am a type A go getter and I personally struggle with stress, anxiety, and overwhelm- to the point where it once greatly affected my health. To support my body in this way I diffuse and apply oils topically. My favorite oils for emotional health include: Adaptiv, wild orange, lavender, copaiba, neroli, and frankincense.
2. Digestive Health
I was diagnosed at a young age with an auto-immune disease that greatly affects my digestive health. These natural tools have been my best friend for years in support of this! I use lemon, zengest, tamer, ginger, turmeric, grapefruit, and celery seed almost daily. I make a morning digestive tonic as well as add health benefitting flavor to my smoothies, drinks, and cooking! To support digestion I also use doTERRA’s lifelong vitality supplements and probiotics.
3. Hormone Health
Hormonal issues are way to common in today’s world. Whether you have ragging PMS, irregular cycles, thyroid issues, adrenal issues, or any other hormonal cascade happening within your body, you can give yourself some relief using specific blends of essential oils. My favorite oils to support hormone health include clary sage, clary calm, geranium, lavender, grapefruit, ylang ylang, and zendocrine. I apply these topically, diffuse, and also take some internally.
