Fall Smoothie Bowls
Air gets cooler, days get shorter, life gets cozier, and the EATS GET BETTER.. FALL.
I don' t know about you, but I have been getting ALL the fall feels lately. As much as I love summer there is just something about the change in season that warms my heart and nourishes my soul.
But even with the cooler days and the longer nights, I still LOVE my smoothie bowls. Although my body craves them in a different way - a pumpkin spice, seasonal food kind of way ;)
Why seasonal foods matter:
Eating seasonal food is a simple ways to transition to new recipes and get maximum amount of nutrients. Foods within season often have a higher nutrient content, they are fresher, better tasting, cheaper, AND you can find them locally. Win/ Win I’d say!
Below are a few of my favorite fall smoothie bowl recipes that include cozy, comforting seasonal foods - Sweet Potatoes, Pumpkin, and Beets.
Why did I choose three ingredients specifically?
These specific ingredients support blood sugar balance, promote detoxification, provide anti-oxidant support, and have anti-inflammatory benefits! These are all KEY properties in balancing hormones AND reducing stress.
So lets get started:

1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
Directions:

add steamed sweet potato and all other ingredients to a blender

** You can also cook the sweet potato ahead of time and keep it in the freezer for easy access.
Superfood beet Smoothie Bowl

**Maca powder is s powerful adaptogen that will help your body adapt to stress, supports anxiety, aids in healthy hormone production, and supports energy levels. If you aren’t already using Maca, you are going to want to start!
