Let’s talk about SUGAR CRAVINGS..
Do you feel like you have ZERO willpower when it comes to CRAVINGS? .. Especially those intense sugar cravings that often show up mid-afternoon and into the evenings?
Stop being so hard on yourself babe.. Your cravings are showing up for a REASON. (& no it’s not only lack of willpower like you may have previously been told).
On a physical level, cravings are a sign of imbalanced insulin levels in the body. Many things (food pairing, food timing, food quality, stress, sleep, digestion, etc.) can impact blood sugar and insulin levels.
When I work with women in my 1:1 Nourished Hormones Protocol, we almost ALWAYS address blood sugar regulation first. This is because insulin is one of the main hormones at the BASE of the Women’s Health pyramid and without stable insulin, it’s going to be almost impossible to create balanced hormones.
On top of the cravings, if you are experiencing imbalanced insulin levels, you are most likely also experiencing other hormonal symptoms.
A few ways this might show up in your body include:
Low energy / energy crashes
Brain fog / inability to focus
Irritability
Mood swings
irregular periods
heavy , painful periods

So what can you do to get rid of those nasty symptoms and sugar cravings?
The first step in reducing your cravings and eliminating hormonal chaos in your body is to BALANCE YOUR BLOOD SUGAR.
The easiest and most effective way to do this is by addressing the timing, quality, and type of foods you are eating. I like to keep this simple for my clients by calling it The Nourished Food Foundations.

In my Real Food Reset online program, I put together a bundle of “craving crusher” recipes that will help to stabilize insulin levels while at the same time give you the “fix” you are looking for.
Here’s the full recipe for these delicious Chocolate- Coconut Craving Crushers:
What you need:
½ cup coconut oil
½ cup nut butter of choice
1 -2 tbsp raw honey
3 tbsps raw cacao powder
1 heaping scoop collagen peptides
Silicone molds or ice cube trays
What you do:
Heat the coconut oil and nut butter in a small pot over stove
Once it starts to melt down, add the honey and stir until melted.
Add cacao powder and optional collagen if using. Stir this until everything is melted
Turn the heat off and pour the liquid mixture into a silicone mold or ice cube tray. (I pour this into a measuring cup first so it’s easier and not as messy!)
Place your molds in fridge or freezer for 1 hour
Pop out of molds and store in the fridge or freezer
